Based on the selfie that you post of yourself on social network profiles, we want to contribute to awareness of the various facets and cultural imprints of your own identity.
THE EXHIBITION | KUNSTBEZIRK Galerie im Gustav Siegle Haus | Stuttgart
This is a transnational (Germany / Romania) project, developed with and by young artists. The selfie is the starting point for reflection: on the self-image, towards the self-portrait; of oneself, the exterior, the interior, of oneself as a work of art, as part of a smaller or larger cultural whole (big picture). Where are the unconscious imprints? Which of them would like to be emphasized, expanded, which new ones would like to be appropriated, or abandoned?
Where are the boundaries between private and public, where in the physical, where in the virtual space? And what role do arts play in this?
The pilot project is funded by the Federal Institute for Culture and History of Germans in Eastern Europe (Bundesinstitut für Kultur und Geschichte der Deutschen im östlichen Europa) and KUNSTBEZIRK e.V. Stuttgart.
